This project was a requirement for operational works on the new Queensland Ambulance Station at Morayfield. Hutchinson Builders engaged ATTAIN to complete the roadwidening works which provided safe turning lanes into and out of the new ambulance station.
Due to the prximity of an intersection with a TMR controlled road and general volumes of traffic in this area there was a need for very detailed coordination and design of traffic management plans to allow safe construction works during normal day operations and without creating queueing through the stop/go or traffic controls.
ATTAINs scope of works included footpath and drainage realignment, bulk earthworks for road widening, some minor subgrade replacement works, pavement construction, signage installation, asphalting and line marking. A 12 month on-maintenance period was required before inspection and handover to Council for off-maintenance.
The single biggest challenge for this project was the safe access routes for trucks for the exporting of bulk spoils and import of roadbase materials for the pavement due to the restricted access from traffic control guidanace schemese implemented.
